Condester Sichwale,a Tanzanian female Member of Parliament (MP) was on Tuesday, asked to leave parliament by the Speaker of the House because she wore trousers that were too tight. This happened after male colleagues complained about her figure-hugging mode of dressing. In a viral video, a male member of the parliament could be heard speaking against her saying '' some of our sisters are wearing strange clothes which is a bad example for females in the society'' before she was politely asked to quietly leave and dress properly to be allowed back in parliament.

Kano Hisbah to stop "immoral dancing" at events

The Kano State Hisbah Board is set to put an end to immoral dancing during weddings, naming ceremonies and other similar events in the state. The News Nigeria reported that the board and the state Association of Event Centres agreed to work together to end immoral dances and other related actions in order to save the youth from embracing acts harmful to societal growth and development. Spokesperson of the board, Malam Lawan Ibrahim, who confirmed the development in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday, May 4, said the two organisations agreed to work together when the Chairperson of the association, Hajiya Fatima Abdulsalam, visited the agency. The statement said that the Commander-General of the Hisbah board, Dr Harun Ibn-Sina, pledged to work with all events centres during and after the Eid-el-fitr, to sustain orderliness in the state He expressed satisfaction with the visit and urged all event centres to bring order and discipline in their operation.

An inmate at the jail where Derek Chauvin is being held has warned that the convicted former Minneapolis cop is not safe in prison. Hannabal Shaddai, who is serving a life sentence at Minnesota Correctional Facility, doesn’t believe George Floyd’s killer is safe among the prison population because of his former profession and the nature of the crime.   Shaddai, 45, claims he doesn't seek revenge but believes Chauvin wouldn't be safe as violence occurs regularly at the maximum-security prison in Oak Park Heights. He told Paradox: “First of all, he’s a cop. Then he did what he did. So it’s not safe for him to be here. Best case scenario for him is he’s going to get beat up a lot. I don’t think he’s safe in any prison population." Olisa Odukwe, a Nigerian student in the UK, who was declared missing since Saturday has been found dead. Police divers searching for the missing Bristol University student found his body in Bristol Harbour, near Narrow Quay, on Tuesday afternoon, May 4. The 20-year-old was last seen at his home in Redland at 7 am on Saturday, May 1, with his disappearance sparking an urgent police appeal. The heartbreaking news of his death was shared publicly online after friends and teammates from his University of Bristol Association Football club had searched nearby Leigh Woods. Suspected bandits kill Kogi pension commissioner, Adebayo Solomon

A Commissioner in the Kogi State Pension Board, Hon. Adebayo Solomon (Akeweje) has been killed by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening, May 1.   According to reports, he was killed by suspected bandits along Yagba – Ilorin Road in Kogi State. Late Adebayo's driver, who also got shot, managed to drive the vehicle to Egbe town before he eventually collapsed. He was still unconscious at press time Saturday night.   The corpse of the deceased Commissioner has been deposited at the ECWA Hospital mortuary in Egbe.   T he State Government was yet to react to the development.   This incident comes days after  a Senator representing Edo Central in the National Assembly, Clifford Ordia, was twice attacked on Okene-Lokoja and Lokoja-Abaji roads by bandits in Kogi State on his way to Abuja from Edo State.
