3sc football club set up new management team against the starts of new season.

Shooting Stars Restructuring in layman's terms If you are familiar with commercial danfo or Micra business, you will understand the headache the owners usually face from their drivers.  Gbeselomoge, Egunselunjejemuti, who are drivers, would come up with different excuses almost every day. They wouldn't meet up with their daily deliveries or owed three weeks out of a month. Gbeselomoge would complain of how VIO, The Police, and Union members wasted a whole day.  Egunselunjejemuti would also come to tell the story of his mother-in-law, who was admitted to the hospital; if not for the tire, it would be a jack. If anyone wants to test his patience, go into the commercial Liteace/Micra business. I promise the monster in you will come out in no time. Onirinloye, the owner, decided to send the two drivers packing and took his 2 Danfos to the Ogba mechanic. Every part of the vehicles was changed, from tyres, rewiring works, to horns. Onirinloye wanted a new loo...

FIFA Set to Step in Amid Transfer Row of Victor Osimhen As Deal Announcement Nears

Image
Victor Osimhen's proposed permanent move to Galatasaray from Napoli is facing complications, with the Turkish club prepared to seek FIFA’s intervention to resolve their ongoing dispute with the Serie A side. The 26-year-old Nigerian striker has already agreed personal terms with Galatasaray and is keen to return following a prolific loan stint last season, during which he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances. Despite receiving a massive €160 million contract offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal, Osimhen turned it down, focusing instead on securing a full-time switch to Istanbul. Galatasaray and Napoli have been in protracted talks, with Galatasaray offering to meet Osimhen’s €75 million release clause through structured payments—€40 million upfront and the remaining €35 million spread over two years. They’ve also promised to back the deal with bank guarantees, according to Spanish outlet AS. However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has introduce...

Oyo 2027: PDP Chieftains Jostle for Agodi Government House as Succession Battle Begins

Image
As the 2027 governorship race in Oyo State gradually gathers momentum, several prominent members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) have begun to show quiet but strong interest in taking over from the incumbent Governor, Seyi Makinde. Though none of the aspirants have made public declarations, political activities and underground consultations suggest that the battle for the Agodi Government House has begun in earnest. Among the leading figures believed to be eyeing the governorship seat is Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, a seasoned politician, former Deputy Governor, and current Deputy National Chairman (South) of the PDP. His long-standing political experience and influence within the party structure put him in a formidable position. Another strong contender is Hon. Stanley Adedeji Olajide, popularly known as "Odidi Omo," the current federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North West/South West Federal Constituency. Young, dy...

Your life can change when you meet the right people

Is there a better story than this man’s? I met Paul Ninson randomly eight years ago when I asked for his photograph in Accra, Ghana. Afterwards I interviewed him and learned that he was a 28-year-old single father, struggling to make a living as a photographer. During our conversation he pulled out his laptop and showed me his portfolio of documentary work. The photos were gorgeous. But most impressively, Paul had created this body of work under conditions of extreme hardship. Rarely had I encountered such willpower. The HONY Patreon community sponsored Paul to come to New York for a year and study at the International Center of Photography. During this year, without telling anyone, he collected thousands of African photography books by soliciting donations from bookstores and private libraries. Before returning to Africa he asked if I could help raise money for him to build Ghana’s first photography library. (Actually, he didn’t ask. But every time we were together he pull...

CBEX issue is far bigger than the victims and their penchant for quick money.

Image
It is okay to blame CBEX victims for being greedy, but the issue is far bigger than the victims and their penchant for quick money.  Ponzi businesses thrive in Nigeria because the authorities are not doing enough to stop this madness and protect our vulnerable citizens. It has been over 4 years since Chinmark crashed with over 7 billion naira of retail investors money trapped in the process.  The protagonist of the whole heist, Chinedu Ijomah, is still on Facebook and Instagram posting motivational speeches while the victims are still licking their wounds, yet to recover from the trauma of losing their life savings with him.  In the next few years from now, Chinmark will come back and join APC and probably run for a House of Reps seat in Umuahia, and since he has enough liquidity stolen from investors who trusted him, he will buy enough votes to win his election.  Just like that.  A society that encourages, celebrates, and rewards criminals is one wh...

Now That the Ponzi Bubble Has Burst, Can We Get Back to Work?

Image
For months, Nigerians at home and abroad were swept up in the latest wave of Ponzi schemes cleverly disguised as forex trading platforms. Names like CBEX, PCEX, WWWCOIN, and several others quickly became household terms. They promised high returns on investments, often claiming to engage in crypto or futures trading. And for a while, they delivered until the bubble burst. The exact origins of these platforms are hard to trace, but one thing is certain: they grew rapidly, thanks to aggressive marketing and word-of-mouth testimonials. The schemes offered daily profits, typically at a rate of 1 percent of the total investment. These returns were shared in real time, with trading signals dished out at specific hours of the day. The results were attractive, almost too good to be true. But in a country where economic hardship continues to push people toward quick money opportunities, skepticism was easily overridden by the testimonies of early beneficiaries. Indeed, many Nigerian...

Echoes of the Beat: A Journey Through Time and Sound

Image
In an attempt to offload the weight of stress clouding my mind, I decided to surrender to the healing power of music. Craving a distraction, I made my way to a popular lounge on Ring Road, hoping that the night would offer some relief. To my delight, the DJ on duty knew his craft well. His hands worked magic on the turntables, and every beat that filtered through the speakers seemed to understand exactly what my spirit needed. For two full hours, I was immersed in a beautiful blend of Nigerian hip hop, an unbroken stream of melodies from both the old school and the new. The selection was flawless. Each song was a nostalgic wave, and I willingly let it carry me. As the music coursed through me, my mind drifted back to my childhood days in Ikeja, Lagos. Growing up in those years, our musical world was painted in foreign colors. American hip hop ruled the airwaves. Names like MC Hammer, Busta Rhymes, and Coolio echoed from every corner. Their rhythms defined our style, our dan...

Adebayo Adelabu and the Politics of Repeated Missteps

Image
Politics is often described as a game of numbers, but beyond that, it is a game of structure, alliances, and a deep understanding of the terrain. As the journey towards the 2027 elections begins to take shape in Oyo State, one name that continues to generate discussion is that of Adebayo Adelabu, popularly known as "Penkelemesi." However, at this juncture, it is important to take a reflective look at his political journey -a journey that has been marked by avoidable errors and a failure to learn from the past. In 2019, Adelabu entered the race for Oyo State governorship under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His campaign was vibrant and colorful. He moved with street boys, musicians, Nollywood stars, and entertainers. It was clear that he was determined to build street credibility. With the backing of then Governor Abiola Ajimobi, he was confident of victory. Many of his supporters believed that the combination of popularity on the streets and ...

Nigerian music icon Wizkid (Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun) and his manager and partner, Jada Pollock, remain a dynamic force, both professionally and personally. Their connection soon deepened beyond business. The pair welcomed their first son, Zion, in 2017, followed by a second son, AJ, in 2022. In October 2024, Wizkid confirmed they are expecting their third child, sharing his excitement on social media: “Yes o! We, Dey, feel am together! Can’t wait to meet my new baby!” Despite their close partnership, Jada has openly addressed the frustration of being reduced to the label of "baby mama." In a December 2024 interview, she emphasized her significant contribu...

From Rejection to Recognition: Funke Akindele Shares Emotional Journey to Stardom

Image
After the release of Jenifa’s Diary Season One, landing roles in Nollywood became incredibly tough for me. Most of the offers I received were for Yoruba movies, but I had dreams of making a name in the broader Nollywood industry. Then came a breakthrough—GLO offered me an ambassadorship deal. I traveled to South Africa alongside big names like Ini Edo, Rita Dominic, and other top celebrities of that time. As we sat down to negotiate, it was the first time I ever discussed millions. My legs trembled, and all I could say was, “Yes sir, yes ma, thank you, God bless you.” But the real shock came when we landed in South Africa. Not a single soul recognized me. The crowd rushed to take pictures with Ini Edo and the others, but I was completely overlooked. It felt like I didn’t even exist. That moment hit me hard—I realized I was only known in Yoruba movies. I slipped into depression. To make matters worse, my younger sister, who had come along, kept asking, “Sister, dem no know y...

Expect Decrease In Fares, Goods, Services, Marketers Tell Nigerians

Image
According to reports from  Vanguard  on Saturday, April 5, Nigerians may soon experience a reduction in the cost of petrol, as international crude oil prices witness a notable decline and oil producers prepare to ramp up supply. The benchmark price of Brent crude oil, which influences the global pricing of petroleum products, has dropped to $65 per barrel, down from its previous value of $69.90. This downward shift is expected to reflect on the domestic market, potentially reducing the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, for consumers across Nigeria. Industry analysts link the fall in crude prices to several factors, including global economic tensions and recent geopolitical developments. Notably, increased pressure from U.S. policy changes, including new tariffs announced by President Donald Trump, have shaken investor confidence and contributed to a decline in oil prices. Additionally, the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries an...

The victims were reportedly attacked by vigilantes who suspected them of being kidnappers. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for swift justice, as grief turns into fury among the victims' families and colleagues. In the wake of the killings, emotions have reached a boiling point, with members of the affected communities issuing strong warnings about taking justice into their own hands if government authorities fail to act decisively. According to a report by PUNCH, Alhaji Musa Dogo, a community leader and hunter from Toranke, stated that the hunters, who had long protected their communities from banditry and violent crimes, were now prepared to act out of vengeance due to the injustice they had suffered. The resolve among the victims’ f...

My mom started crying at the hospital when she gave birth to me because of my skin colour - Elesho

Image
Veteran Yoruba movie actor Adeoye Adewale, also known as Elesho, has revealed some of the things that happened to his mother when she gave birth to him, while also stating why she started crying at the hospital immediately after she gave birth to him. In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Lagelu FM 96.7, he made it known that her mother was not sure if it was his dad or a white man that had an affair with her when she gave birth to him because of his skin colour. In his statement, he said, "My mom told me that she started crying at the hospital when she gave birth to me because of my skin colour because my mom used to buy dishes from some white men. When I was born, my mom wasn't sure if it was a white man or my dad that had sex with her. She was so scared of what my dad would say if he saw my skin colour, but to my mom's surprise, my dad was very happy when he saw me, to the extent he carried me and started singing for me."

Following his release, activist VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have paid N15 million to some EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against him. Bobrisky, who was arrested at the Seme border on ...
