FG gives cash, fertilisers to Zamfara victims Banditry

The Federal Government has donated 29 , 800 bags of fertilisers and other farm inputs to victims of banditry in Zamfara State .

It also handed over assorted grains to the affected residents to help cushion the impact of the COVID - 19 lockdown .

The government further flagged off the payment of its Conditional Cash Transfer scheme and the Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme loans to small business holders in the state .

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs , Disaster Management and Social Development , Sadiya Umar - Farouq , said the 50 kg fertilisers and other farm inputs went to 4 , 606 farmers .

She disclosed this in a statement issued by her ministry ’ s Deputy Director, Rhoda Iliya, titled , “ FG donates 29 , 800 bags of fertilisers and other farm inputs to victims of banditry in Zamfara State . ”

Umar - Farouq said over 102. 5 trailer loads of assorted grains including maize , millet , and sorghum approved as palliatives were donated.

She said the conditional cash was for 130, 764 indigenes of Zamfara State from six Local Government Areas , who had been captured in the National Social Register .
