Wizkid and Jada Pollock: A Powerful Duo in Music and Life

Nigerian music icon Wizkid (Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun) and his manager and partner, Jada Pollock, remain a dynamic force, both professionally and personally. Their journey began in 2012 when Jada, then managing American superstar Chris Brown, met Wizkid during a tour stop in Lagos. Captivated by his talent, she took on the role of his manager, playing a pivotal role in propelling him to global stardom through collaborations with international artists like Drake and Damian Marley. Their connection soon deepened beyond business. The pair welcomed their first son, Zion, in 2017, followed by a second son, AJ, in 2022. In October 2024, Wizkid confirmed they are expecting their third child, sharing his excitement on social media: “Yes o! We, Dey, feel am together! Can’t wait to meet my new baby!” Despite their close partnership, Jada has openly addressed the frustration of being reduced to the label of "baby mama." Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu has opened up about a terrifying experience she had after working on a movie set with veteran actor Akin Lewis. In a video shared on her official YouTube channel, Regina Chukwu TV, the actress recounted how she was kidnapped from a hotel where she and Akin Lewis had lodged for the night. According to her, she was invited to a movie set and was only meant to stay for a day. However, the producer insisted she spend the night, as Akin Lewis needed to leave early the next morning. She was then taken to a hotel alongside the actor. "Upon arriving at the hotel, I noticed it was filled with prostitutes, and I immediately told the producer and Akin Lewis that I didn’t feel comfortable staying there," she explained. "Akin Lewis pleaded with me to stay, and out of respect for his age and reputation, I agreed. That decision remains one of my biggest regrets." Regina said she began hearing disturbing noises outside her room but chose ...

From Rejection to Recognition: Funke Akindele Shares Emotional Journey to Stardom

After the release of Jenifa’s Diary Season One, landing roles in Nollywood became incredibly tough for me. Most of the offers I received were for Yoruba movies, but I had dreams of making a name in the broader Nollywood industry. Then came a breakthrough—GLO offered me an ambassadorship deal. I traveled to South Africa alongside big names like Ini Edo, Rita Dominic, and other top celebrities of that time. As we sat down to negotiate, it was the first time I ever discussed millions. My legs trembled, and all I could say was, “Yes sir, yes ma, thank you, God bless you.” But the real shock came when we landed in South Africa. Not a single soul recognized me. The crowd rushed to take pictures with Ini Edo and the others, but I was completely overlooked. It felt like I didn’t even exist. That moment hit me hard—I realized I was only known in Yoruba movies. I slipped into depression. To make matters worse, my younger sister, who had come along, kept asking, “Sister, dem no know y...

Expect Decrease In Fares, Goods, Services, Marketers Tell Nigerians

Image
According to reports from  Vanguard  on Saturday, April 5, Nigerians may soon experience a reduction in the cost of petrol, as international crude oil prices witness a notable decline and oil producers prepare to ramp up supply. The benchmark price of Brent crude oil, which influences the global pricing of petroleum products, has dropped to $65 per barrel, down from its previous value of $69.90. This downward shift is expected to reflect on the domestic market, potentially reducing the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, for consumers across Nigeria. Industry analysts link the fall in crude prices to several factors, including global economic tensions and recent geopolitical developments. Notably, increased pressure from U.S. policy changes, including new tariffs announced by President Donald Trump, have shaken investor confidence and contributed to a decline in oil prices. Additionally, the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries an...

With visible emotion, the actress disclosed: "I was raped once in my life, and it was by a colleague. I still see him often. Do you know how scary that is for me? Whenever I see him, I panic." Though she withheld identifying details, Lolo confirmed the assailant remains active in media circles and has since risen to a prominent position. The Wazobia FM on-air personality explained why she kept quiet: fear of victim-blaming and the perpetrator's industry influence. "I've had to remember those painful moments again," she confessed, highlighting the psychological toll of encountering her abuser regularly at work events. It's hard to relive these memories," Lolo admitted...

In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Lagelu FM 96.7, he made it known that her mother was not sure if it was his dad or a white man that had an affair with her when she gave birth to him because of his skin colour. In his statement, he said, "My mom told me that she started crying at the hospital when she gave birth to me because of my skin colour because my mom used to buy dishes from some white men. When I was born, my mom wasn't sure if it was a white man or my dad that had sex with her. She was so scared of what my dad would say if he saw my skin colour, but to my mom's surprise, my dad was very happy when he saw me, to the extent he carried me and started singing for me."
