However, despite it's nutritional and health role, onion are also harmful. When onion is cut into two and left open, it absorbs surrounding bacteria which explains the reason why onion when left open in a room can help prevent ur from getting flu and cold

Onion are great magnets for bacteria which can be poisonous.

When a case of food poisoning is reported, one of the things experts investigate is whether the victims ate onion, so it is very important to throw away your leftover onion.

It is better to use the quantity of onion you can finish at a go and left over one should either be stored in a refrigerator or discard immediately.
