I Refused To Remarry Because Of The Stress Of Intercourse – Nollywood Actress, Mama Ereko

Veteran actress Mama Ereko has disclosed her choice to remain single, attributing it to her need to preserve her youthful appearance and evade the complications associated with marriage. In a recent interview on Talk2Dunnis TV on YouTube, the 79-year-old actress articulated that marriage, with its physical and mental exigencies, may accelerate the aging process. Upon contemplating her decision, she remarked, “Had I remarried, I question whether I would maintain my current elegance.”

The pressures associated with intimacy and marital responsibilities frequently adversely affect women, accelerating their aging process. At this juncture in my life, I no longer perceive a necessity for a spouse; I have developed my own resilience. As reported by The Nation, Mama Ereko disclosed the challenges she had during her marriage to her deceased spouse. She disclosed that she had emotional turmoil as a result of his adultery and domineering conduct, which had a profound effect on her.

Reflecting on her distressing experiences, she stated, “I endured considerable hardship during my marriage.” My husband was disloyal and took no measures to conceal it. He would introduce other women into our residence, even in my presence, and I was compelled to tolerate it. He occasionally dispatched me on errands solely to entertain his mistresses at our residence. She said that, despite her exasperation, she never addressed him due of apprehension.

I was perpetually distressed, although I refrained from confronting him due to my fear. She remarked, "He exerted such control over me that I felt utterly powerless to voice my concerns."
