The Edo State Government has taken decisive action by demolishing houses linked to kidnappers in Governor Monday Okpebholo's senatorial district. This operation targeted properties in Illeh (Esan West LGA) and Uromi (Esan North East LGA).
The demolition aligns with the state's recently passed anti-kidnapping law, which mandates the demolition of properties used for criminal activities.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Mr. Akhere Paul, emphasized the importance of landlords properly profiling tenants to prevent such incidents. The operation also uncovered dangerous weapons and involved the confession of suspects who admitted to high-profile kidnappings, including a case involving a ₦10 million ransom
