A 20 - year - old man , Mumini Huseeni , on Monday, appeared before an Osun State Magistrates ’ Court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing a motorcycle belonging to a police sergeant.
The defendant was said to have perpetrated the crime at the Police Barracks, Oke Fia, Osogbo .
Huseeni admitted stealing the motorcycle and begged for leniency .
The police prosecutor , Kayode Adepoju, informed the court that the defendant stole a Jincheng motorcycle on July 2 , 2020 , inside the barracks .
According to him , the motorcycle is valued at N 100, 000 and belongs to one Sergeant Ashiru Idris .
The offence was said to be contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390( 9 ) ( 10 A ) of the Criminal Code , Cap 34 , Vol . ll , Law of Osun State , 2002 .
The defendant had no legal representation and pleaded guilty to the charge .
The prosecutor sought an adjournment for the presentation of facts .
