Senator Olusola Adeyeye has shared an encounter he had with Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, during President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Speaking in a video shared by Channels TV, Adeyeye said that while he was staying in a hotel, Emefiele unexpectedly came to his room looking extremely nervous. He said that Emefiele was shaking and seemed very afraid. He said when he asked Emefiele what was wrong, he said some powerful people were after him.
Adeyeye said he advised Emefiele to report the matter to the police, however, Emefiele refused, insisting that he could not involve the police.
In Adeyeye's words: "Emefiele came to my room and he was shaking like jelly fish. I said what is wrong and he said some people were after him. I said who is after you? He mentioned them and he mentioned how much he had given the people who were after him. I said why are you telling me, go and tell the police. He said no, I cannot tell the police"
